CIRRIS XI and CIRRIS XR Wins Top Accolade at Pipeline Industries Guild Awards Luncheon

On June 29th, SGN and ULC Robotics, Inc. were awarded with the Land based Pipeline Technology Awards for the groundbreaking development of the CIRRIS XI and the CIRRIS XR Robotic System at the Pipeline Industry Guild’s Awards Luncheon aboard the H.Q.S. Wellington in London.

The robotic system, which was field tested late last year will allow gas utilities to extend the life of large diameter cast iron pipeline infrastructure by internally assesses the condition of cast iron pipelines and repairing and preventing gas leaks at the joints of cast iron gas main. To minimize disruption to the public, both of these groundbreaking robots can carry out their work in live gas mains.  The development of the robotic system was a partnership between the two companies and funded under Ofgem’s Network Innovation Competition.

SGN and ULC were presented with the prestigious award at the luncheon which took place aboard the H.Q.S. Wellington in London.
