Comprehensive Utility Locating Services using AUSMOS

ULC Technologies provides comprehensive utility locating services by deploying AUSMOS, an autonomous robotic platform that detects and marks-out below-ground infrastructure utilizing a sensor suite comprised of ground penetrating radar and electromagnetic sensors. These services enable same day data collection, processing and road mark-out with higher density, higher resolution data to eliminate the risk of accidental damage to buried assets.

Key Benefits

On-Site Data Processing

AUSMOS delivers immediate, interpretable results and mark out in the field in near-realtime to remove the need to wait for data analysis by subject matter experts.

High Resolution 3D Map
AUSMOS’ localization and navigation system allows for denser data collection compared to a human operator. This data set is then utilized to create high resolution 3D models of the buried assets.
Improved Data Acquisition

The pushcart data acquisition process is prone to human error. Deployment of AUSMOS ensures data is properly captured and results in a more accurate map.

Operation in GPS-Denied Environments

AUSMOS can maintain its navigation and localization accuracy in highly congested areas
and inside buildings where GPS is denied.

Multi-Sensor Assessment
The AUSMOS robot simultaneously collects GPR and EM data and overlays the results of both sensors in one 3D model of the assets for a comprehensive assessment of the infrastructure prior to excavation.
Ease of Deployment

AUSMOS eliminates the manual, intensive setup required for grid marking prior to data collection to reduce time-in-street and increase project efficiency.

AUSMOS

Data Acquisition

The sensor suite utilized by AUSMOS delivers on-site, easy to interpret data. GPR and EM sensors ensure data is fully captured resulting in a higher density and higher resolution 3D mapping of subsurface infrastructure.
