PRODUCT: Portable Emissions Recovery
Mini DDC: Eliminate Emissions During Gas Distribution Operations
We took our highly efficient DDC-125 Drawdown Compressor and scaled it down to deliver industry-leading project efficiency within a smaller package. ULC Technologies’ Mini DDC Drawdown Compressor enables gas utilities to extract the stranded natural gas from the isolated section of main, compress it, and inject it back into the active system to support zero emissions goals and mitigate odor complaints.
Why you should consider the Mini-DDC:
No diesel compressor required
Natural gas fuel source for lower carbon footprint
Faster than other products in the market
Supports low pressure applications
Automated safety features and overpressurization protection
Engineered for gas distribution applications under 1,000 cu ft

Key Benefits
Designed for Gas Distribution
The Mini-DDC Drawdown Compressor was purpose-built to deliver efficiency for gas distribution utilities and is approximately 60% faster than other products in the market within a similar scale.
Natural Gas Fuel Source
The Mini DDC uses natural gas to fuel to engine — not diesel compressors — to enable rapid drawdown and emissions recovery without the complexity of external compressors.
Automated Safety Features
The Mini DDC Drawdown Compressor automatically pauses operation when adverse conditions are detected and has built-in over pressurization protection and cooling.
Compact, Field-Ready Design
Built for mobility and rapid deployment on utility work sites or constrained environments without sacrificing performance.
Pressure Range Flexibility
With 125 psig (8.6 bar) maximum inlet and outlet, the Mini DDC covers a broad range of gas recovery and maintenance scenarios — no need for multiple compressor units.
Minimize Impact on Construction Teams
The high efficiency delivered by the Mini-DDC reduces time it takes to recover emissions, allowing project teams to easily integrate this process into their projects.

System Specifications
The Mini DDC Drawdown Compressor uses a belt-driven piston compressor powered by a natural gas-driven engine and control panel to extract stranded natural gas, compress it, and inject it back into the active gas main.
- Max inlet pressure: 125psi
- Max outlet pressure: 125psi
- Primary Fuel Source: Natural gas from the discharge side of the operation; no diesel compressors needed
- Fuel Usage: ULC’s Mini-DDC uses less than 1% of the natural gas extracted from the drawdown main
- Secondary Fuel Sources: Propane and gasoline
- Engine: Natural gas-certified engine
- Compression: Single-stage natural gas certified compressor
- Safety: Automated safety features and over-pressurization protection
- Hose Size: 3/4″ gas-rated hoses
- Portability: Fits on back of a pickup truck

Safety
The Mini-DDC is equipped with over-pressurization protection and automated safety features pause operations for abnormal conditions such as:
- Low compressor oil pressure
- Low compressor oil level
- Low engine oil pressure
- Low engine oil level
- High engine water temperature
- High/low suction pressure
- High/low discharge pressure
- High discharge temperature
- High liquid level in suction scrubber

Drawdown Calculator
Enter a gas main diameter, length, and starting pressure to calculate how long a single Mini DDC unit would take to bring the pressure down to 0.5psig.
The calculator will assume the drawdown main is the same pressure as the discharge main. Calculations are estimated and should be reviewed by our team to confirm accuracy.

Before we excavate for replacement of Aldyl-A pipe, we always call ULC to help us avoid third party damages in the field. We won’t dig until ULC marks the main using their long range cameras. Their marks are spot-on, which means fewer holes in the street for our community.

Brett Fisher
Before we brought in ULC, we had to rely on old records and some of the curb lines have changed or streets have widened, making it challenging to locate the stubs. In-Pipe Locating is a good program to bring in to help us locate the stubs and possibly prevent damages when we’re installing our new gas main.
