CISBOT

Service

Robotic Internal Rehabilitation of Live Cast Iron Gas Mains

CISBOT enables gas utilities to rehabilitate leaking and leak-prone cast iron gas mains internally while keeping pipelines in service. By sealing joints from within the pipe through a limited number of excavations, utilities can reduce methane emissions, minimize community disruption, lower restoration costs, and extend the service life of critical urban infrastructure.

Small Site Footprint

CISBOT enters the live, 12″-48″ diameter cast iron mains through a very small opening in the street and travels through the pipe to internally seal up to 110 joints from just one excavation.

  • All work performed in live mains
  • Reduced impact on traffic and community
  • Low-noise enables crews to work at night

Proactive Methodology

CISBOT remediates all the joints in the main by injecting an industry-proven anaerobic sealant into the joint. Our process repairs existing leaks and prevents new leaks from forming to support capital construction and emergency response.

  • Internally remediate both jute joints and mechanical joints
  • Computer controlled injection method
  • Ability to inject from multiple positions around each joint

Turnkey Services

ULC Technologies, LLC. can provide a full turnkey rehabilitation program, including site preparation, excavation, tapping, valve installation, joint sealing, and reinstatement to support our contracts.

  • Reduce demand on limited utility resources

Reducing Environmental Impact

By sealing leak-prone pipelines CISBOT mitigates the lost value of leaked gas and prevents harmful methane emissions from negatively impacting the environment. Our solar-powered mobile command units also help support net-zero carbon emission goals.

Hear From Real Customers

S. Sweeney
– Con Edison

“Hiring ULC Robotics for the work with CISBOT on West End Avenue cost $400,000. To do the job the way such work used to be done would have cost $1.5 million to $1.8 million.”

J. Rowing
– Westminster Council UK

“CISBOT enables us to keep the roads open, have the gas on the entire time, and it massively reduces the duration of the work.”

J. Harrison
– Cadent Gas

“CISBOT delivered 850m of Gas mains remediation to this highly sensitive location in 9 weeks compared to 9 months via traditional methods, The impact on traffic was considerably reduced and at no time did customers have their gas supplies interrupted.”
